Sculpture Tour

Ron purchased the Black Hand mine in 1982 with the intention of making his fortunes mining for black opal. This didn’t end up being the case and more money was spent on expenses than what the opal the mine produced.

Today this mine has become The Chambers of the Black Hand, an underground sculpture gallery showcasing over 800 sculptures and carvings into the sandstone wall.

You will be amazed by the detail and variety of Ron’s sculptures as you make your way through all 26 Chambers. Every Chamber has a different theme so there’s something for everyone!
